Freqently Asked Questions:
Q. How do I access this test?
A. You can access this test by simply sending a sample of your hair - a small lock approx 2” long from the end of your hair, or an equivalent amount in shavings, which will then be analysed.
Q. Does it matter that I dye my hair?
A. Hair colouring makes no difference to the test results.
Q. How is this test done?
A. The equipment used is a Registered Medical Device and has been clinically tested and proven. Vitamin and mineral supplement requirements are tested for as well as digestive system supplement requirements and also those listed above.
Please note: This is not a substitute for medical advice when needed. If you have a health concern please see your GP or medical practitioner.
Q. How do I get the results of the test?
A. You will then be contacted via email by the Practitioner directly who will provide a list of all items tested, indicating those you are sensitive to. Dietary information sheets will also be provided where necessary to help you identify where foods may be hidden in secondary items.
Q. How do I go about eliminating my food intolerances?
A. In addition fully comprehensive written instructions are given in the e-mail on the procedures for eliminating problem foods and how to identify an item(s) of food, making this simple and easy to follow.
Q. What is food sensitivity?
A. Clinical Ecology is the term used to define the study of food and environmental sensitivities which do not necessarily fit into standard mechanisms.
Food sensitivity tries to balance between man and his environment. Our aim is to identify and treat food and environmental sensitivities and to manage the underlying causes of illness which may be triggering reactions.
Food sensitivity is a negative reaction to an item that causes a symptom. It can be caused the absence of enzymes needed to digest an item or the body’s response to chemicals natural or artificial. Foods contain natural chemicals.
Q. What is the difference between food sensitivity or intolerance and food allergy?
A. Symptoms vary greatly and can be mistaken for the symptoms of true allergy. True allergy is an immune response and is often life threatening.
Q. are the symptoms of food sensitivity or intolerance?
A. Food sensitivity or intolerance can produce many symptoms i.e., rashes-eczema-joint ache-runny nose-low energy-fatigue and many more. People are unable to adapt to modern foods and chemicals and so produce symptoms. Every person has a list of sensitivities. Foods are natural chemicals and we are living organisms and so it follows that we will not be able to tolerate all substances. There will always be an array of items we are sensitive to.
There may or may not be a visible symptom, but there will be a symptom somewhere to a sensitivity. Symptoms are not usually immediate and can take up to 5 days to manifest.
It is impossible to categorise a specific food to a symptom as everyone’s body will react in a different way to a toxic item. The only true way to know is to have a test here and follow the guide to identify a symptom to an item(s).
Q. Are there any specific conditions that addressing food intolerance or sensitivity may help?
A. There is one group of foods that is indicated for children diagnosed with HYPERACTIVITY and this test may help. These foods can be tested here, at no extra cost, please make this clear when booking a test.
OBESITY may also be caused by foods as they interfere with the metabolic processes. Thus diets may be showing no effect, as the problem is not calorie related.
Q. Are there any other things to consider on whether I have food sensitivity or intolerance?
A. In addition to the above PROPER DIGESTION AND ABSORPTION are two of the most important physiological functions in the body. If these processes are not working properly, optimal health cannot be maintained. Incomplete or disordered digestion can be a major contributor to the development of ill-health.
